Participants that raise $1,000 or more in support of the Walk for Life will automatically become members of the EXTRA MILE CLUB. This club has been established by HIV Edmonton to recognize and celebrate those that go the extra mile in their fundraising efforts.
The 2011 Mile High Marshall will lead members of the EXTRA MILE CLUB. Benefits of membership include:
- Invitation to an exclusive VIP Reception on September 15, 2011 at HIV Edmonton, sponsored by Accent European Lounge
- Express Registration on the day of the Walk
- Exclusive gift from Prana Holistic
Please welcome your 2011 Mile High Marshalls, the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose. The Court’s mission is to raise funds for organizations that provide services and support to the GLBT community of Edmonton. The Court is run by a Board of Directors and it is the oldest registered GLBT non- profit in Alberta.
Each year, an Emperor and Empress are elected and their roles are to be goodwill ambassadors for the organization. The Emperor, Empress and their Upper House then choose charities to support during their reign. This year, the current Emperor and Empress Lj Steele and Dee Luv have chosen to develop a youth camp in partnership with HIV Edmonton and Alberta Health Services. Millicent’s Red Diamond Retreat is a youth camp that provides support and education for children and families who are affected by HIV and AIDS.
