GUYQUIZ
GuyQuiz is a community based research project HIV Edmonton is currently undertaking. It investigates the sexual culture of men who have sex with men in Edmonton. Are you a guy who has sex with other guys? We want to hear what you have to say! Please contact QC at qc.g@hivedmonton.com to learn about ways you can participate online, in a focus group or through an interview.

EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE
HIV Edmonton is committed to evidence based practice. To this end, we are developing a research component to our overall operational framework that will assist us in keeping current on the latest research and developments in prevention, education, support and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related conditions. HIV Edmonton is committed to sharing this information with the greater Edmonton community. Our research priorities will be developed in conjunction with our Strategic Plan and will support the priorities of the organization.
COMMUNITY BASED RESEARCH
HIV Edmonton is dedicated to the principles of Community-Based Research in which planning and implementation of research projects will have the community as full partners in the project.
HIV Edmonton works with many community organizations, teaching institutions and community leaders and members. Our research plan will include:
- identifying opportunities for research collaboration with these partners
- undertaking research opportunities that address community needs,
- contributing a practical benefit to the community as regards HIV/AIDS and related issues,
- involving the community being studied,
- facilitating the building of individual and organizational capacity and
- contributing to the quality of life for those infected, affected and at risk of HIV/AIDS in a meaningful way.
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER/TRANSITION
In the world of healthcare, knowledge by itself is meaningless unless it is shared or disseminated freely to the affected communities and other interested parties. Research findings are of benefit if they are put to work in refining decisions around improving the lives of the communities being studied. HIV Edmonton is committed to the distribution and free sharing of our research findings and that of others to our community partners, our clients, teaching institutions and those affected and at risk for HIV/AIDS and related conditions.
