Undue Force: An Overview of Provincial Legislation on Forced Testing for HIV

The Canadian AIDS Legal Network has developed a booklet that looks at existing provincial legislation in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba that would or already does allow forced testing for blood-borne diseases such as HIV.

Maraviroc approved in Canada

(CATIE News) On September 21, 2007, Health Canada approved the use of the novel anti-HIV drug maraviroc. To be sold under the brand name Celsentri, maraviroc is meant for treatment-experienced people who have HIV-1 that is resistant to other medications. Maraviroc will be marketed by Pfizer Canada.

Global Mental Health Ethics Symposium

Global Mental Health Ethics: A Nursing Research Perspective

The urgency to address research in mental health illness and itstreatment has been acknowledged only recently by the world community. Mental illness, although responsible for one third of the days Canadians spend in hospitals and costing the Canadian economy approximately $18 billion/year, has received little attention and it is still considered the "orphaned child"of health care.

AIDS Calgary is Moving!

As of November 1, 2007, AIDS Calgary ’s new address will be 110, 1603 10 th Avenue S W , T3C 0J7 . After developing and delivering programs and services for several years at their current location (200, 1509 Centre Street South ), their lease has expired and the option to continue in the current space was not available. Therefore they will be moving to an exciting new location.
