Criminalizing HIV Transmission Discourages Testing, Contributes to Spread of Virus, Some Canadian Advocates Say

Some HIV/AIDS advocacy groups and physicians in Canada are calling for an end to recent criminal trials of HIV-positive people who allegedly exposed sexual partners to the virus knowingly, arguing that the criminalization of HIV transmission does more harm than good, the National Post reports.

Sugar Molecule Can Protect Against HIV, Study Finds

Thirty years of AIDS—Cancer trends in HIV, then and now

Until the mid-to-late 1970s, Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) was a rare form of cancer in high-income countries. When it did occur, it was mostly older men who were affected, with tumours appearing on their feet and legs. KS in these men caused mild disease.

New York Times Examines Internet Strategies for Alerting Partners About HIV, STI Exposure

The New York Times on Tuesday examined the use of various Web-based tools that allow people to alert their sexual partners about possible exposure to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. According to the Times, research indicates that men who have sex with men who contract STIs often fail to notify their casual sexual partners.

Nebraska Bill Would Criminalize Intentional Transmission of HIV/AIDS, Other Diseases

We are looking for facilitators for our drop-in, people who would like to do a mini-workshop to either:
promote their programs that may benefit our clients; share knowledge, expertise with our clients; create artwork; create some crafts; health care workers can share their knowledge; social workers can share their knowledge/ experience;
